〕 }} ''The Maggot'' is the tenth album by American musical group Melvins, which was released in 1999 through Ipecac Recordings. This album is part of a trilogy: ''The Maggot'', ''The Bootlicker'' and ''The Crybaby''. The Trilogy was released on vinyl by Ipecac Recordings (''The Trilogy Vinyl'', IPC-011, November 27, 2000). On the CD version all songs are split to two tracks and there is a spooky sample of the song "Toy" (the first song on ''The Bootlicker'') after "see how pretty, see how smart" followed by silence.
